At this point FS Force considers the entire earth to be one big concrete runway! :)

I'm hoping to add variable terrain effects to version 2.0.

At this point it starting to look like the MSFF1 is not compatible with FS Force, however I wouldn't give up hope completely. If I could get my hands on one of those joysticks, I could possibly get it working. The other thing that I'm thinking of is to adapt a test utility that I've got and send it ...

Martoni

Another beta tester has report problems with MSFF1. Will keep you posted. Make sure you have all the latest drivers and patches for that joystick. Apparently there were some problems with that joystick when it first came out.

Hi Stan,

Open up your cfg file and look under [Profile Assignments]. One beta tester reported that he found a line with a single "=" on it, which was messing up the Profile Manager. If you find something like that, delete it and then see how it goes.

The autopilot actually uses the MS trim system. FS Force has nothing to do with that. I had thought of using a guage for the trim indicator, but that would mean the user would have to install the guage in every one of his aircraft, which would be a pain. This way it's always there no matter what the...

I'm sure it would be do-able. Just have to find a good sound clip for a typical trim sound.

Etienne The fact that you are getting forces with the virtual aircraft is a good sign. Note that the trim wheel on the aircraft control panel is NOT supposed to move when you make trim changes. FS Force completely bypasses the MSFS trim system. There is a section in my docs about that. If you haven'...

Dreaman,

Does that error happen all the time when MSFS and Profile Manager are running at the same time, or was it just once?

FaxCap,

I'm a little suspicious of your joystick. Either that or it could be a Win2k issue. I've emailed you a little FF utility that comes with the DirectX SDK. You can use it to see if your stick is actually working.

Try going into Control Panel > Game Controllers > Properties. Usually there is a page there to test the forces on your joystick. You click different buttons and it plays various sample forces. Do you get forces there? Sometimes I've seen that "unstick" a situation like this. You're running W2K, righ...

Try to see if you can get some forces in the Profile Manager. Shut down MSFS, start up Profile Manager, go to the second page and select a profile ("Light GA" for example). Click on Edit Profile, and throttle up the Virtual Aircraft. You should get some pavement grooves and centering forces. If not,...

Re: Ok....it's Installed and running!

Back to Settings>Joystick Forces.....box now unchecked....no feedback. Checked the box.....load a flight.....Feedback now working. I didn't uncheck that box???? Did the install routine do that? FaxCap Note that under "Settings>Joystick Forces", everything should be unchecked. And yes, the install r...

Good question. I've often wonder that myself! :) I've never flown a real helicopter, so I have no idea how the controls should feel. Is there a centering force? Does it vary with airspeed? Are the controls very loose, or stiff? Do helicopters have trim mechanisms? In reality, it shouldn't matter, be...
