Setting Trim Wheel on Logitech G940

Hi. I'm using the G940 and I've tried to follow the instructions in the help file for setting the TrimWheel in the .cfg

I want to use the Trim Wheel that is attached to the Throttles. FSX recognises that wheel as "R2".

The code I tried in the .cfg was as follows:

TrimWheel=Joystick:1:YAxis (as I thought this was the closest match)

This however made the thrust levers work as a the trim. I tried replacing YAxis with the other possible options, including R2 to see if I could get it to work.

No joy unfortunately. Can this be done? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

First task is to figure out what joystick the G940 is showing up as. Go into Control Panel / Game Controllers. If your G940 shows up as the first joystick, it's joystick:0. If it's the second, it's joystick:1, etc.

Next is to figure out what axis your trim wheel shows up as. Go into FSX / Settings / Controls / Control Axes. Pick any Event that doesn't have anything assigned under the "axis" column, and click Change Assignment. Then move the trim wheel on the G940. Let me know what shows up, and we'll go from there. (Click cancel to NOT save your changes.)

Logitech is supposedly going to send me on of those G940s for testing, but I haven't got it yet.

Hi, thanks for the quick response.

Game Controllers shows 3 devices:

Joystick
Throttle
Pedals

As Throttle was second on the list I classed it as Joystick:1 (Is that correct?)

Assigning the Trim Wheel of the Throttle in FSX shows up as "R2", which is the label of the Trim Wheel on the g940 Throttle.

The "R2" might refer to one of the rotational axis, such as when you twist a regular joystick. Try each of the following to see if you get any results:

Joystick:1:RxAxis
Joystick:1:RyAxis
Joystick:1:RzAxis

Using Joystick:1:RxAxis got it working :D

Thanks very much for your help.
