Carenado C182 auto-pilot - Trim issue

Post by liazkam » Wed Dec 29, 2010 4:46 am

Hello,

I'm flying the Carenado C182Q and Im having the following issue:

The auto-pilot has only heading and bank control. No altitude or pitch control.
When I activate the AP, the FsForce is doing what it designed to do and sets the trim back to zero. But, since the AP itself doesnt have any control on altitude, it becomes impossible to fly the airplane with AP. The trim, just keeps on getting back to zero.

Is there any solution?

Thanks a lot

FS Force only centers the joystick if it detects that the autopilot is in Altitude-Hold mode, or Approach mode. I would assume that Carenado has implemented their own custom autopilot, and it is not correctly reporting the mode it is in to addons such as FS Force.

Thanks Russel for another fast reply.
Well it turns up you are absolutely right.
Luckily, the guys at Carenado were smart enough to set two buttons for VOR radial track - one that uses Approach and one thsat uses Nav hold.
When I use the latter, all is good. I still lose some functinality, but i can live with it. Much better, than to lose FS force :)

Thanks.

PS - still monitoring the crash. No sign for it yet.
