Reset Trim and no SHIFT key?

Post by MarkH » Mon Mar 28, 2016 7:58 pm

I have not found a way to reset the FSF trim to 0. Sometimes it would be convenient to do this with a button. Is there way that I have missed? I can see Lvars called FSForceTrimType and FSForceTrimValue but poking values into them doesn't seem to have any effect.

On a related note, it is very inconvenient to have to use SHIFT to switch between FSX and FSF trim, since I have a cockpit that doesn't otherwise need a keyboard. Can we not have this on a button too? I though there might have been a way with FSUIPC to simulate the SHIFT key being held but I can't see how.

[EDIT]
Actually I found how to do the SHIFT key in FSUIPC - you have to set a key to SHIFT+X and then go edit the X to be a null (k0) in the fsuipc.ini file. I also decided I don't really need this 'cos I can set another control to FSX elevator trim (or to centre the FSX trim).

BTW, I realised that 'reset FS-Force' (or re-start, I forget) resets the FSF trim and can be mapped to a button.
