SimConnect

SimConnect is a special interface that is built into FSX, and is installed automatically when you install FSX.  Add-ons use it to exchange information with the simulator.  On some rare occasions, however, the SimConnect module does not get installed properly.  Before FS Force begins, it checks to see if SimConnect is working properly on your computer.  If not, it displays a message and directs you to this help page.  Below are steps you can take to make sure SimConnect is installed properly. There are two methods you can use.  Both are known to work.  Choose the one that suits you the best.

OPTION 1 : RUN THE FSX REPAIR OPERATION

This is a fairly straight forward operation.  Simply place your FSX DVD (either the base version, or Acceleration if you have it) into your computer drive, and when the Setup program starts, select the Repair option.

OPTION 2 : RUN THE SIMCONNECT.MSI INSTALLER

If you have the FSX SDK installed (which only comes with the Deluxe version), you can run a special installer just for SimConnect, called SimConnect.msi.  You can find it in "C:\ ... \SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\Lib". If you don't have the SDK installed, you can find it in the "SDK" folder on disk 1 of the FSX DVD set.
