Really sad to hear that, I doesn't feel right to go back to non force feedback after using it so I guess I will stay off the sim as a main training aid for now. I hope they fix the SimConnect soon :/

Well, we will wait patiently and with credit cards ready, but for those with the G940, I have found that you can get some sort of pseudo feel by changing pitch amd roll axes to minus 69% which, when coupled with a bit of a dead zone and the natural centering of the stick means that you can gently lean the aircraft into a turn or just tease the pitch change a little. Very poor substitute, but one which might help for the moment.

It is funny, but I never thought I would miss the bone jarring thump of a poor landing like I do now.

Russell,
I will be watching this board every day. Hope we are able to get our "necessary" force feedback working in MSFS.

Since being on your original testing team many years ago, I have never abandoned my FF2 joystick. Flight Simulation is just not the same without it. Yes, I've bought about 5 of them over the years. I have 3 spares just because they are so hard to get. Ebay is the only place to get them...and wow, just check out the prices they are getting for used FF2 joysticks. Incredible.

Looking forward to a great "GO" message from you soon.

Stan

Hello,

I just fulfied a child's dream: have a force feedback joystick. I've just bought a MSFF2 expecting to have Force Feedback. I hope that it will be ready soon!!!!

Yes I use a G940 rudder and throttle, paired with a Sidewinder FFB2, it recognises both devices and you just need to map the appropriate buttons/axes. Easiest way I've found is to have control panel device manager open and press a button you want to assign, then map to in game menu.

Both work great used together, albeit lacking FFB which FS Force will eventually rectify
I've been using the G940 with FSForce for a very long time and I've tried everything, impossible to affect the axes and keys with Flight Simulator 2020. Also impossible to access the .exe file.
If you succeeded, I don't see how you did it.
Im not using FS force but all I did was map the inputs in the control options to the corresponding axes on G940

Preliminary solution?

Hi Dirk,
With everyone at Asobo probably busy on getting the announced Xbox and VR versions ready it seems a bit uncertain when all the SDK problems are completely fixed. A minimal version allowing proper trimming behavior (nulling the control pressure) could be completely indpendent of the simulator, the center position of the flight stick could simply be shifted via some of the buttons, or a button could reset the center to the current position. This would realize a trim without using the actual trim functionality of the simulator. Does such software exist, or could this be hacked together rather easily?

Markus,
Maybe give this project a try: https://github.com/joeyjojojunior/simFFB
Sounds like it's what you're describing.

It works, realistic trim is possible for now, can't wait for the real force feedback package :)

Oh my, I hope you do your magic on this. I am enjoying the new Flightsim but force feedback on the old Sidewinder would be great. Hope this won't take long now.

David.

My MSFFB2 just arrived and I really got really happy. I tried the test application and DCS and i was "ohhh".

I'm hoping that MS and ASOBO will soon allow this addon to work! And work flawlessly!
